The RH Toolkit works on RH Projects and Opportunities as soon as Resource Hero is installed or upgraded. This page covers what an administrator may need to set up: the action on custom layouts, user access, reconcile tracking, the snapshot purge, and using the toolkit on another object.
Add the action
The RH Toolkit action is on the packaged RH Project layout, the packaged RH Project Lightning page, and both packaged Opportunity layouts. If your org uses its own layouts, add it:
- Go to Setup → Object Manager → RH Project (or Opportunity) → Page Layouts, and open the layout.
- Select Mobile & Lightning Actions.
- Drag RH Toolkit into the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
- Click Save.
The toolkit opens only from this action. It cannot be placed on a record page or in a flow.
Give users access
Assign the Resource Hero – RH Toolkit permission set to the people who use the toolkit. It gives access to all six tabs, including Find Resource on the Assignments tab. Users also need a Resource Hero license.
The permission set does not grant access to Opportunity records. Users need that from their profile.

A record marked read-only shows a lock banner, and its forecast cannot be changed.
Track reconciles with RH Last Reconcile Date
The new RH Last Reconcile Date field on RH Project and Opportunity records the To Date of the most recent Reconcile. The next Reconcile starts from the day after it. The field is on the packaged layouts. Only Reconcile writes it.
Turn on automatic snapshot purge (optional)
Snapshots are kept until someone deletes them. To delete old snapshots automatically, set Snapshot Purge After Days in RHA Settings. See Snapshots for what the purge spares.
Every snapshot that existed before Keep Forever was added is marked Keep Forever, so turning on the purge never removes a snapshot you already had. Clear Keep Forever on any you want the purge to remove.
Use the toolkit on another object
The toolkit can run on any object that Resource Hero is configured for. The object needs:
- A lookup to it on Resource Assignment, registered in the RHA Object Translation custom setting, as for any Resource Hero object.
- A lookup to it on Snapshot, if its records should have snapshots.
- Optionally, a Date field named
RH_Last_Reconcile_Date__cto track reconciles, and a Checkbox namedRH_Make_Read_Only__cto lock a record. - A quick action of type Lightning Web Component that opens
ResourceHeroApp:rhToolkit, added to the object’s layout.
