Most of what you do in Resource Hero is anchored to a moment in time: when a project starts, who’s available next quarter, how the next two weeks look, etc. The date navigation controls give you a consistent way to move through time, change the level of detail, and focus on the dates that matter.

Left / Right arrows move backward (4) or forward (5) through time ranges.
The Year picklist (3) shows the current year, the previous three years, and the next five years. New years are added dynamically as you navigate using the arrows.
The Week picklist (not shown) is only visible when View By is set to Single Week and shows available calendar weeks based on the selected month and year.
View By
The View By picklist (1) determines the type of time period displayed:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Day | Each column represents an individual day |
| Single Week | Displays one calendar week, where each column represents a day. A Week Options dropdown appears for selecting a specific week within the chosen month |
| Week | Each column represents a week |
| Month | Each column represents a month |
Time Range
The Time Range picklist (2) adjusts dynamically based on the selected View By:
| View By | Available Time Ranges |
|---|---|
| Day | Current Month, Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days, Next 7 Days, Next 14 Days, January – December |
| Single Week | January – December (individual months with a week selector) |
| Week | Current Quarter, 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter, 4th Quarter, 1st Half, 2nd Half, Next 3 Months, Next 6 Months |
| Month | Next 12 Months, Entire Year |
Rolling time ranges (e.g., Next 3 Months, Next 14 Days) move forward relative to today’s date. When displaying a rolling time range, the Time Range picklist includes a refocus button. After selecting a date in the interface, click the button to refocus the view on that date.
Fixed time ranges (e.g., 1st Quarter, January) are anchored to a specific calendar period and year.
Switching Between Views and Time Ranges
When you switch between View By options or Time Range selections, the component preserves your context as best it can:
- Week to Day – If you’re focused on a date in May and switch to Day view, the view defaults to the days in May.
- Month to Week – If you’re focused on November and switch to Week view, the view defaults to the weeks in the 4th Quarter.
- Month to Day – If you’re focused on November and switch to Day view, the view defaults to the days in November.
When switching between fixed and rolling time ranges, the selected date is used as the baseline. For example, if you’re viewing June within the 2nd Quarter and switch to Next 3 Months, the view starts at June and shows the following three months.
Anchor Dates
Click the anchor date button (6) to jump the view to today’s date or a specific date on the parent record (RH Project, Opportunity, Resource Assignment, etc.). When multiple date fields are configured for the component, a picklist lets you switch between them; selecting a different field anchors the view to it automatically. The first field in the field set is used as the default.
Anchor date navigation is available in both the Find Resources and RH Matrix components.
