Resource Hero keeps your Salesforce environments current in two ways: scheduled automatic upgrades, and self-service upgrades you can run anytime from the Salesforce AppExchange. Both deliver the same release. The right choice simply depends on whether you want to wait for the scheduled rollout or move to the latest version now.
Automatic upgrades
As new versions of Resource Hero are released, your Salesforce environments are upgraded automatically. Before each upgrade, contacts at your organization receive a notification email with the release schedule.
The rollout follows a predictable cadence:
- Approximately two weeks after the notification email, all sandbox environments are upgraded.
- Approximately two weeks after the sandbox upgrade, all production environments are upgraded.
This staged approach gives your team time to review new features in a sandbox before they reach production.
To change who at your organization receives upgrade notifications, or to add contacts, let us know using the form on the Contact page.
Upgrade now
If you are on an older version, or you simply do not want to wait for the scheduled rollout, you can upgrade to the latest version at any time from the Salesforce AppExchange. Installing the latest version over your existing package upgrades Resource Hero in place. Your data and configuration are preserved.
To upgrade now:
- Go to the Resource Hero listing on the Salesforce AppExchange.
- Install the latest version into your sandbox or production environment. The steps are the same as a first-time install: see Install Resource Hero for the full walkthrough.
- After the upgrade completes, review the post-install steps for your version. These are linked from the Release Notes.
Tip: Upgrade a sandbox first to preview the latest features, then upgrade production when your team is ready.
Which version am I on?
To check your current version, in Salesforce go to Setup, enter “Installed Packages” in the Quick Find box, and select Installed Packages. Find Resource Hero in the list to see your installed version number. Compare it against the latest version on the Release Notes page.
